10/9/2017 - 10/7/17 Press Release - Serious Crash Driver Sought by NPD

On October 6, 2017 at about 9:19 PM Naugatuck Police responded to a serious two-car motor vehicle collision occurring at the intersection of Prospect Street at Locust Street in Naugatuck. The Naugatuck Valley Collision Investigation Team, consisting of officers from the Naugatuck, Cheshire, Middlebury, Watertown and Wolcott Police Departments were called to investigate the crash.

Investigators determined that the Audi was operated by an unknown male who was traveling E/B on Prospect Street when it collided with an Acura that was attempting to turn left turn onto Locust Street. Investigators further determined that after the collision, the operator of the Audi fled the scene on foot. It was subsequently learned that the vehicle was reported stolen from Waterbury.

The unknown operator of the stole Audi was described by witnesses as a black male average building wearing a white hat, blue jeans, and white sneakers. The occupants of the Acura sustained serious injuries and were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
