On September 24, 2017 at
about 12:50 AM Naugatuck Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision
in the area of 994 May Street Naugatuck, CT.
The Naugatuck Valley
Collision Investigation Team, consisting of officers from the Naugatuck,
Cheshire, Middlebury, Watertown and Wolcott Police Departments were called to
investigate the crash.
Investigators determined that
the vehicle was operated by Ms. Brittany Schuld (DOB 11/14/1989) of Naugatuck
who was the only occupant of the vehicle. Investigators further determined that
the vehicle was traveling westbound in the area of 994 May Street when her
vehicle left the right shoulder of the roadway colliding with a utility pole.
Ms. Schuld was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision from injuries
sustained in the crash.
The Collison investigation is
still active and residents that live in the area should expect periodic power
disruptions while utility crews work to restore the downed powerlines from the
collision. Residents should also plan to use alternate routes around the area
of the crash which is located on May Street between Longview Drive and Maple
Hill Road.
