The St. Patricks day holiday is always a bitter sweet day for all of us at the Naugatuck PD ... It was 26 years ago on this date that we lost Officer Nancy Nichols in the line of duty .... Officer Nichols was struck and killed by a vehicle while she was assisting a fellow officer on a traffic stop on Prospect Street (Route 68)... Please enjoy the day, be safe by drinking responsibly and please keep Officer Nancy Nichols in your thoughts today....

Sunny and a bit more mild today but still below the average for this time of year … highs today will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s … Cold tonight with a chance of snow this weekend … Spring starts next week!! ….

The Naugatuck PD investigated the following incidents of interest yesterday:
• Burglary / Larceny from Vehicle – City Brook Rd. (Four suspects arrested in connection with this larceny as reported in yesterdays report – The four offenders are listed on the 3/17/17 arrest report)
• Larceny from Vehicle – School St. – Reg Plates (two) taken – CT “AE71707”
• Missing Person / 16 year old Hannah Torres / W/F 5’-2” Tall, 150 Lbs, Blonde hair, Blue eyes - http://www.naugatuckpd.org/…/666/…/TORRES.Hannah_3.17.17.pdf
• Soliciting without a permit – 53 Conrad Street – Energy Solicitors / advised on property or without a permit.
