10/12/2016 - 10/12/16 NPD Visits City Hill MS

Today several officers of the NPD in including Lt. Pete Bosco, Officer Dasilva, Officer Robinson and Officer Borys went to City Hill Middle school after the NPD received the following letter from a student named “Brandon”.

The letter was forwarded to us from City Hill teacher Ms. Buyers. She stated that she was sending the letter to us after she asked her student s to write about their favorite superheroes … The classroom theme was superheroes and Ms. Buyers class used this writing project to discuss positive choices, being helpful citizens and being kind in general … Brandon submitted this letter for the project;

"Dear Officer,
I am writing to tell you that police officers are my favorite superheroes. A superhero is someone who tries hard to do good for others. Police Officers are nice, they help people and they save lives. I think saving lives is the coolest thing about police officers. i can be like a police officer by doing well at school and at home.

Thanks for the inspiration, Officer!

Your fan,
Brandon.

… While I don’t personally think that any of these officers actually possess the superhero powers that I happen to have …. (Slumbering/ snoozing, Donut selection AND ingesting and of course coffee consumption … just to name a few …) … I do believe that they represented our officers well!!

…The officers offered the students Halloween safety tips were and shared a question and answer process … which can sometimes go south very fast with the middle schoolers …. But this one went remarkably well … All the children and staff were treated with coupons redeemable at friendlies after the Halloween holiday …. (and no … I don’t know why donuts were not offered up as well …)

…It was a great time and the officers, staff and especially the students enjoyed themselves immensely!!! … Thanks City Hill Middle School and Thank you Brandon!!!
