NPD CALL ACTIVITY REPORT:
Okay … I was presented yesterday with a great question yesterday –
“What is a door check” … We put out or activity report daily and I
think its great that someone asked as it likely means others have the
same question … we definitely want you to understand the numbers we
provide, so lets get into it …
…. A “DOOR CHECK” is a
combination of a few types of call for service calls that officers of
the NPD handle on a daily basis … door checks are first and foremost …
door checks …. There are various businesses, residences and “areas”
within town that we check routinely … these checks are logged as … “Door
checks”
…. In addition to the door checks, we also tally
several other service calls in the “Door check” category such as burglar
alarms, attempt to locate calls and school checks … all of these are
considered “Door checks” as well. … essentially, door checks are a part
of the Naugatuck PD’s proactive policing activities … these proactive
activities also include actions such as traffic stops, suspicious
persons and vehicle checks …when these proactive activity numbers are
high, are crime numbers tend to stay low ….
… So there you have it … when you look at our daily NPD Call Activity Report numbers, watch those proactive numbers to be high
… that’s where they need to be in order keep everyone’s stuff safe!!

12 Ambulance (Medical Assist Calls)
50 Door checks / Burglar Alarm checks (Residential / Commercial)
12 Motor Vehicle enforcement stops
6 Motor Vehicle Accidents (None serious)
No Vandalisms
No Burglaries
No Robberies
4 Arrests ; (2 Motor Vehicle Related Arrest, 2 Breach of Peace / Disorderly Related)
