Good Tuesday all,

Its pretty cold out there this morning everyone – its really time to bundle up! The NPD call activity report for Monday 1/18/16 (0630-0630) is attached, no unusual activity was seen for the day but we remind citizens to please keep an eye out for anything suspicious and to report anything you may obsrve as suspicious to the police as soon as possible.

As temperatures drop this winter, I have attached some cold weather tips:

  1. Pick Up the Phone
  2. Buy tickets to any destination in the Caribbean

…Okay – Okay…I get it – you have a little problem with that job and the family and all…. If you must stick it out here (like me), here are some tips from the Red Cross to deal with the cold;

1. Layer up! Wear layers of lightweight clothing to stay warm. Gloves and a hat will help prevent losing your body heat.

2. Don’t forget your furry friends. Bring pets indoors.

3. Remember the three feet rule. If you are using a space heater, place it on a level, hard surface and keep anything flammable at least three feet away – things such as paper, clothing, bedding, curtains or rugs.

4. Protect your pipes. Run water, even at a trickle, to help prevent your pipes from freezing.

5. Better safe than sorry. Keep the thermostat at the same temperature day and night. Your heating bill may be a little higher, but you could avoid a more costly repair job if your pipes freeze and burst.

6. The kitchen is for cooking. Never use a stove or oven to heat your home.

7. Lock the car if you warm it up. Better yet, use a car starter if you have one and never leave children unattended

Okay That’s all I have for this morning – please stay warm and have a safe and happy Tuesday…We will be here …
