Pictured is the newly developed NPD “Chess Team” … these officers just love the game and have spent years playing the game against one another.
One day they decided that they should just pool together and form a “Super Team”. They planned to compete internationally however, when they showed up at their first competition they discovered the game they had been playing all those years was actually “Checkers” …
When the whole “Chess” thing went bad – they decided to stay together as a group and form a “traffic Unit”…. Hence – the “NPD Traffic Unit”… Although they really stink at Chess, they are actually VERY good as a traffic unit… Who’da thought a bunch of cops would be good at traffic enforcement???
This group of fine officers will be out enforcing motor vehicle laws throughout the borough during this holiday weekend. They will be focusing on Speeding, distracted driving and DWI violations and will be signing autographed citations for the lucky violators they find… Just be aware that these autographs are NOT FREE … they will cost as much as a few hundred dollars for the moving violations and could range into a few thousand for a DWI… Note that the DWI does include several very special “Meet & Greets” with the officer on specified dates at the Waterbury Superior Court – those dates you will also meet with a seated Judge, prosecutor and an attorney of your choice… It’s a really fun time if you consider being arrested, losing your license and the ability to drive and spending thousands of dollars in fines and legal costs “fun”…. I personally would rather play chess…Umm – I mean checkers ….
