Okay …. Everyone….STOP….Just ….. STOP!!!
..I posted a press release earlier today which included the mug shot, Mr. Anthony Corbo, whom was arrested for operating a vehicle that struck one of our officers on July 2nd after our fireworks event that evening…. The mug shot shows cuts and scrapes on Mr. Corbos face …which some have started commenting on our Facebook thread and other social media threads that our officers “Tuned him up”
….Before the rumors get completely out of hand, Lets be clear...Mr. Corbo WAS NOT “Tuned Up” by any of our officers - or for that matter, any other agencies officers…. – Mr. Corbos driving (…. Which I think we can all agree is not the best…) …got his “mug” him into the condition it appears in his “Mug –Shot”…. If you have been following along – you know that we received a tip that Mr. Corbos car had been towed Friday night in Waterbury after having been involved in an accident… and that it matched the description of the car we were looking for…. Mr. Corbo was found to have been operating that car, and was arrested for DWI in Waterbury …and as you can see by the attached photos…his “Mug” came in contact with his windshield during the collision….resulting in the cuts and scrapes about his “mug”… I have attached photos of Corbos car, that by observing you can easily fit the injuries to the damage…
...Unfortunately for those that have watched countless hours of “TV Land” police dramas where the bad guy gets “tuned up” after “defying” the police…. In the real world there is a name for that…its called ASSAULT …and we are in the business of Investigating and Deterring Assaults….Not creating them…
…. for those that still don’t believe… be rest assured that Mr. Corbos contact with our officers – including his arrest - from start to finish - is documented by our officers body cams…. There is literally and figuratively – NO BLOOD ON OUR HANDS!!
… So again, before the rumors get out of hand….please ….Just STOP !!
