NPD Facebook Post - 1/8/15 - TBT

For todays Throwback Thursday pic we feature Naugatuck Police Sergeant Francis Feeley… this photo was taken back in 1975 and it shows Sgt Feeley hard at work as the first Naugatuck Police IT administrator…. as you can plainly see by two the very sophisticated “toggle” switches located on the counter top in front of him…. along with the “state of the art computer monitor located over his shoulder to the left…. That’s right Sgt Feeley showed ‘em how to get it done in IT back in the day… in fact, this photo was taken shortly after he finished “facebooking”…. A term which was used back then when an officer worked the desk on midnights and fell asleep while reading a book….

….and - YES….This is all true stuff….

….Well, Ok…. Maybe there is a little stretching of the truth going on here…. Such as….Sgt. Feeley did not really work as the first IT officer …. He was simply “working the desk” at the old PD (…located in the town hall in the basement)…. and no – he really didn’t “show em” how to get it done in IT back in the day…..but he did show them how to get it done!!!

...that said ….everything else is 100% true….Those are toggle switches…. that is an authentic old school computer monitor ….. and Officer Feeley did just get finished “Facebooking”!!!

Thanks everyone – stay warm and remember, we will be here if you need us!!!
