reetings Everyone – welcome to Hump day! Depending on how you look at it, we are either already half way there, or…. We are only half way there!!
Either way – I hope everyone is having a good Wednesday… I have some items for you, first and foremost – The Veterans Day parade went well yesterday – very nice event held here in the Borough to honor out retired and active military personnel. I would also like to state again how much the service of the men and women is appreciated … Thank you for all you do and have done!
The next item is “No Shave November”… If you see some un-shaven officers, know that the Naugatuck PD participates in No Shave November and that we participate through the Naugatuck Police Union…who in turn makes a donation to the Naugatuck Food Bank to help needy families in the Borough…
Now, the way it works is each participating officer must pay to take part…. The funds are collected by the Naugatuck Police Union… There are also some rules…. You MUST be able to grow a beard to participate (…sorry Captain Hunt….) - or you MUST be able to grow hair on your legs (…sorry again Captain Hunt…)… Next, You must keep the beard neat and trimmed… and Finally… it has to be gone by December 1st… (and BTW….every year a few of the men try to hold on by keeping the “Cop-Stache”…which is NOT very flattering unless your taking a ride in the time machine back to nineteen – seventy something!!)
Now – I plan to have some fun with this whole “No Shave November” thing so… Stay tuned – you will not be disappointed!!
